Roberto Minondi sings at Tango Porteño. An experienced Tango artist, he has recorded albums and appeared in modern music videos featuring classic Tangos. He has also performed in Europe, Asia and the United States. Accompanied by the orchestra, he sings with a strong, expressive voice, exploring different Tango rhythms throughout the show.

At one point in the show, he steps down from the stage and stands just in front of the first row of tables, facing the audience and surrounded by an ocean of darkness. There he stands, illuminated only by the followspot, telling us a sad Tango story.

But Minondi is also a versatile performer. He moves and dances alongside the ensemble in several choreographed sequences, and he also takes part in a scene with a single dancer. In this particularly theatrical moment, he and the dancer interpret the story told through the Tango lyrics — a story of hope and optimism that almost tips into joyful madness — adding another layer of emotion to the performance.

These vocal and theatrical sequences complement the dancing and live music that shape the Tango Porteño experience in Buenos Aires.
